Medical Staff Orientation

Orientation Requirement
Welcome to San Francisco General Hospital & Trauma Center.  New Employee Orientation is an established policy of the SFGH’s Administration and all newly hired providers assigned to work at SFGH are required to attend orientation. Failure to complete the orientation requirement will delay credentialing or suspension of temporary privileges. 

Active and Affiliated Medical Staff
Active and Affiliated Medical Staff are required to attend a live all day Hospital Orientation session from 8:00am – 4:00pm. The topics covered are required by State law and regulatory agencies. Sessions are held multiple times per month as noted in the calendar below (yellow highlights).  You will receive an email informing you of this requirement.

Note: Active and Affiliated Medical Staff at CPC clinics who do not provide care at the SFGH campus only need to complete the online module

Courtesy Medical Staff
Courtesy Medical Staff are required to complete an online orientation module.  Instructions for accessing the module will be sent in an email.

Residents
Residents are required to complete an online orientation module.  Instructions for accessing the module will be sent in an email.

Fellows
Non-ACGME fellows that go through the Medical Staff Office for credentialing must attend in person all day New Employee Orientation from 8:00am – 4:00pm. Registration is required prior to attendance.  To sign up for an orientation date, click here to go the the online registration form.
